The new aging of 60’s and 70’s…

New aging

If you look around, you’ll see some amazing aging women out there, they may not be rich or famous but they are truly amazing.  I think it’s all in the attitude. You either fight it or give into it.  Only two choices. One is the easy way out, I think, the other takes some toughness but doable for all of us.

“Age has given me what I was looking for my entire life – it has given me me . It has provided time and experience and failures and triumphs and time-tested friends who have helped me step into the shape that was waiting for me. I fit into me now. I have an organic life, finally, not necessarily the one people imagined for me, or tried to get me to have. I have the life I longed for. I have become the woman I hardly dared imagine I would be.”
― Anne Lamott,

I couldn’t say it better, as we start aging, we grow into our skin, even if it is saggy and wrinkled!  It’s ours!

SHEILA aging very well

My son’s stepmother…70 something

Lady and son. 67

I met this  lady with her son…70 something. She was beautiful and what skin…

These ladies are just an example of how older women are living these days, they stay healthy, active and enjoy life.  Even with all the aches and pains and ups and downs.  Keeping active and interacting with friends and family really make a difference. Sometimes its just harder than others but just be fabulous! Think fabulous! Thank you to all the women that give me inspiration…

Sheila has a cool side to her, she keeps busy, takes care of herself and loves to laugh.  She’s beautiful inside and out and the lady has great style.  She’s refusing to give in!

And then you have my best friend and me…

I mean, really, Susan Saradon lets it all hang out and looks unbelievable while doing it…better than many young women! I mean, this lady is 69, if you’ve got it flaunt it.  Who ever said we have to fit into a mold of “older” women? Why can’t we be sexy in our society?  Do we have to wear frumpy clothes…I say NO!

  • Love this! I so enjoy the age I am. I don’t care what people think. I’m healthy, happy and enjoy being me! Great post!

    • It’s amazing how life gets better when you take care of yourself. I agree, it’s a great age.

[…] Fashion changes, why do we stick to our old look when there are wonderful things we can add to our clothes to bring it up to date, even if it’s just a hairstyle or nail polish color? A new pair of boots could help, getting rid of mommy pants is another thing you can do.  There is a reason they are called that.  But we’re older now, we have more time to get dressed without interruptions so why not enjoy and have some fun?
